The total area of ​​the country amounts to almost 330,000 square miles, though 63 percent of the territory occupied by the jungle. Malaysia belongs to the 1,007 islands, 38 of which have been declared marine reserves. The largest islands are Langkawi, Penang, Tioman.

The structure of Malaysia consists of 13 states and 2 federal territories - the capital Kuala Lumpur and the island of Labuan. Nine states are ruled by sultans, each of them for five years becomes the King of Malaysia. The country's capital is the city of Kuala Lumpur, with a population of 1.3 million people. Other large cities: Ipoh, Johor Bahru, Georgetown.
